Dear Klaus,
About one year ago I installed your iSync Plug-in as described in this article “How to iSync a Nokia 6300 on Mac OS X” and it was working perfectly ! Thanks for this. However, some days ago all of a sudden it the iMac seems unable to connect with the Nokia 6300 using iSync (although I can browse the Nokia 6300 via the iMac and send sms messages from the iMac via the Nokia 6300). When I startup iSync, it only mention “connecting” without any other action. I tried to re-install the Plug-In, but without positive result. So I’m really desperate, since it used to work perfectly and was very very useful. So, could anybody help ? Many thanks in advance !

Brian: It appears my last comments were deleted. I don’t understand why? Anyhow to re-iterate. There is a problem with this method or either isync with Snow Leopard. I previously had it working with just Leopard with the downloadable plugin version on this site. I have subsequently tried the instructions above to manipulate the isync config to get my 6300 working but both the plugin and the config change cause the same issue. That is when trying to “add device” in isync, upon double clicking on the 6300 icon, isync crashes. Can someone please help. I realise most might not have Snow Leopard yet but surely someone has an early retail copy.

I have just installed Snow Leopard, and Klaus' method works perfect with Snow Leopard. Absolutely no problems. Thanks a lot!

Hi there Klaus, I tried the xml manual way first but isync crashes after successfully detecting the 6300 devise. The Snow Leopard compatible plug in worked a perfectly (the xml update had to be reversed first though. The plug in worked a charm after that. Thanks a mil for the post and solution. Jon

I have the same problem.

With Snow Leopard after reinstalling this patch – isync crashes when double clicking on the Nokia 6300 icon after selecting add device.

Has anyone figured out how to solve this?

Thanks a lot Klaus, the plugin worked just fine until yesterday I installed Snow Leopard. Now there is a red sign with an exclamation mark next to the phone symbol on the iSync screen, and when I try to synchronize, it says that I have to install the plugin once more. But this doesn’t work either as it says I don’t have the required rights. Repairing rights didn’t help any.
Any solution in sight?

For me, the file pathway was there but the MetaClasses.plist file was just missing.

Any ideas why this is?

I tried using iSync with all the changes excluding installation of the plugin and it seems to be working at this stage.

Just wondering if you will be generating a Snow Leopard version of the plugin (I’ve done all the other steps but iSync doesn’t like the Leopard plugin).
